The election is over, and I couldn't be more proud to continue serving the people of New York's 94th Assembly District.

We got a lot done during our first term, but we still have much more to do. We passed more bills into law than nearly any other freshmen lawmaker in the state. That's because of the ten bills we introduced and passed in the Assembly, eight of them passed the Senate and were signed into law by the Governor.

For example, of the eight bills signed into law, four of them addressed various local needs in the Town of Yorktown: protecting a historic cemetary from development (A10453), establishing new parkland to offset commerical space along the Route 6 corridor (A7136), rededicating a state highway after one of our very own local military heroes (A2998) and designating Mohegan Lake as an inland waterway for the purpose of revitalization (A9655).

This was accomplished by gaining support from members of both political parties in the Assembly, by working with Senator Terrence Murphy in the Senate Chamber, and coordinating with the Governor's Office to help ensure that Governor Cuomo would sign our legislation into law.

So how does all that happen? For those who may not be familiar with the process, here's a video, a blast from the past if you will, for your viewing pleasure. While Albany is not Washington DC, there's a very similar process in New York's two-house legislature.

Passing a bill in one house doesn't make a law. That's "just a bill." House Rock! song "I'm Just a Bill"

Yesterday, I was privileged to attend Veterans' Day ceremonies in Somers and Yorktown. It was refreshing to see so many people from our local towns come out to thank and show their appreciation for our military heroes. Thank you to all who attended, and thank you to all who served and continue to serve our great nation.🇺🇸 ... See MoreSee Less
